I was drawn to the Cardigans by Lovefool a few years ago, and little by little I realized how incredible Nina Persson was- I always liked her vocals, but there were songs she wrote which I related to totally (which I will not be talking about in this review).
The first single "I Can Buy You" is wonderfully melodious and catchy- but understand that despite this description, it is separate from the teen pop for the masses scene (which I like hearing on the radio sometimes, but this is even better).
The only thing I regret is that while I ordered this here, my friend got it at Virgin Megastore when it came out, and his copy includes footage/ video that is not on the copy I have.
"Frequent Flyer", "I Can Buy You", "Song for the Leftovers", and "Algebra" are my main attractions to this, and "Bluest Eyes In Texas" is pretty nice too. Interesting side note: I think that song's on the soundtrack of Boys Don't Cry.
You know what? Form your own relationship with the music. Aside from the fact that it is tiring to do so, it's not very effective for your later enjoyment to infiltrate your head with preconceived notions of what something is going to be like or should be like.
