A.F.I., who never cease to disapoint, went in an entirely new direction in this album. With the line up change handing the guitar to Jade Puget, you know good things are going to happen. The lyrics Davey wrote for this album are a dramatic departure from Shut Your Mouth. They take on a very emotional meaning. Every single song is filled with emotion. The backing for the hardcore shout lyrics are a blazing guitar, deafening drums, and hynotpic bass. Jade defies logic by playing songs like No Poetic Device in major chords. Adam is sure to deaf from hitting the bass drum so much, and the cymbals so hard. Poor old Hunter is hammering on his bass with startling precision. There is no doubt in my mind that there is a better album anywhere. The dark metallic music underneath the sad lyrics is a great mixture. If you like anything resemblin rock, as least listen to parts of this.
