I bought this album FULL RETAIL the day before it came out (long story) and it was definitely worth every penny. I've read some criticisms on these pages and I understand that there are some antsy Tool fans out there. I started out as one of you, impatient with the mellowness of APC, but I have really grown to appreciate the artistry and innovation of Maynard's "side project". I LOVE Emotive! I'm highly critical of covers as a rule and some of the artists they have borrowed from are hard to follow (Led Zeppelin?!) but I think that these pieces are well chosen and the treatment is innovative as well as skilled. Every song sounds different from the original and from each other and who else can you say that about? Additionally I believe that we all have a responsibility to use our gifts and individual resources to contribute, whatever our vision is of this, and that means those with talent use their talent and those with fame use their access to the public ear. This is not the greatest album Maynard's ever done but it is a really good one and one I think has a really broad appeal and a really good message.
