What a waste of otherwise good music.

Yeah, I am OG--except not from the first EP. I become a huge TOOL/Maynard fan a few weeks after Undertow's release. APC has become a wonderful new drug between the all too infrequent hits of TOOL. Both bands have been on the cutting edge with head spinning music mated to Maynard's myriad of soul stirring lyrics. That was before.

eMOTIVe is a huge hunk of lazy garbage. I actually used the FF button on the CD player for the first time on any new TOOL/APC CD (except for the empty parts on Undertow #69). I heard the lyrics on eMOTIVe the first time they were recorded. I didn't need a new spin on them. It's not art or a compliment to the original artists, it's the purest form of laziness. Reinterpreting and rerecording your own music is one thing, but to remake somebody else's [...] is quite another. The insult is that it's all more of the "entertainment world's" (never thought I would consider Maynard part of that) complaining about a war I am sick and tired of hearing about, anyway. Stop whining--with other people's words--and run for political office! Or, better yet, go back to making kick-[...] ORIGINAL music!

"Lets start a war" is the only redeming track among the unoriginals.

On the whole, I can only blame myself for blindly buying this CD just because it was by APC. I will certainly pay more attention to APC/Maynard productions in the future.
