The truth about eMOTIVe, from one who LOVES this band.
Review Score:

(2/10)
I have listened to this many times, because I have many times in the past, thought one thing about an album, and listened more, and allowed the changes to grow on me, etc...etc. The unfortunate about this cd is, it has grown on me more than it did, and I still cant accept this as a focused well written APC cd.
Instead, what we get is political S*** rock from a once great band. Like I really seriously care to hear Maynard tell us to vote, by butchering already s****y hippy rock, and making it doom and gloom which may I add, sounds like It was thrown together in about a week, just to make the release date, which was election day. Make NO MISTAKE, APC is a GREAT band! 13th step was phenominal, and like I said, I had to give this some growth, but it didnt take long to realize that the changes revealed a hard working band's new vision. Mer de noms, phenominal, and the fact of that album is, Billy (guitarist) had years to perfect that cd. It paid off! They claim there are 3 new songs here. Wrong. There are 2. A bad remix of another song is not a new song.
With eMOTIVe, there are about 2 or 3 songs on here that are tolerable and somewhat enjoyable.
My choices for songs worth hearing on here is...
track#3-Peace, love, and understanding. (great guitarwork)
track#4-What's going on (great guitar, great atmosphere)
track#8-freedom of choice (which is sung here by Billy, hes not bad, but not Maynard)
Everything else on here is a travesty. I should also point out that Maynard was not the only contribution in ruining this cd, but I mean he just sticks out as the most annoying. That is honesty, and I hated to say it, but It had to be said. It was uninteresting to me, to have your band, who stands for good songwriting, taking the time and resonsibility to be sure the songstructures are well crafted, etc....instead use that platform, to be a politician. UGH! So very often, it doesnt pay off! Be sure and check out anything else, behind this album and its dvd (which is even worse of a package if you can believe that)
