I bought 'Mer de Noms' rather spontaneously having only heard "Judith" on the radio once or twice. Needless to say, I've been hooked on the cd ever since the first time I listened to it.

There is no comparing the sound of Perfect Circle to any other band,(not even Maynard's original band, Tool). The lyrics are genius! For example: "Judith" is essentially a sarcastic mockery of the Christian catch-phrase "He did it all for you..." and "3-Libras" is rather encrypted with messages playing off the song's theme of being overlooked. EVERY SONG expresses a new idea or concept. 'Mer de Noms' is so much more intelligent than 95% of all modern alternative albums, lyrically alone.

Instrumentally, 'Mer de Noms' is in a class by itself. I can't honestly classify this new breed of music, because I've never heard anthing quite like it before. Every sound is so carefully executed and powerful, it's really unique.

'Mer de Noms' has restored my faith in musical evolution... this is GOOD STUFF! BUY THIS CD RIGHT NOW!!! You'll thank me later...
