This album is actually really good. I was surprised because everyone complained it wasn't Tribe when it came out. But the fact is this kicks the sh**t out of almost every other hip-hop CD that came out at the same time (besides "Aquemini"...a total classic). The only track I don't really dig is the Noreaga thing; it's weak, and he's got no place sharing the mic with tribe. But all the other songs are surprisingly good...even if you don't like it at first you will over time. The problem Tribe had was that their first 3 Lp's were instant classics, but they perfected the formula and had to move on. And this is really just a logical progression. IT's basically what beats, rhymes should have been. And 20 years from now we may look back at this as the last time we had the real Q-Tip. Just check out "Amplified" and you'll realize why this album is really so good. It's got tight beats and a cool flow...lyrics hotter than ever. And the 6 bonus tracks are also really cool, kind of a fun look back. Buy it - you won't be disappointed.
