If Aaliyah was still alive today she would've been a bigger star than she was before, seriously. This album is a beautiful album expressing lots of emotions and feelings along with some thumping beats to back up the lyrics (much thanks to Timbaland). I recevied this album for my birthday, after Aaliyah had passed, and after I listened to it I felt that Aaliyah was one of those singers that shouldn't have left the music world. This album really moves mountains. The funny thing is that this album isn't such a "discovering" or "emotional" album it just features Aaliyah singing in her smooth diva voice about love and lost, you know the usual stuff. There really isn't anything groundbreaking about this album, this album was just a plain old album but with a touch of Aaliyah that made this album special.
Okay, on to the album...with the help of Timbaland, Missy Elliot and Tank, Aaliyah got some grooves in all the right places such as my personal favorite "Rock The Boat", smooth sailing with this hit that has a jazz touch to it. "U Got Nerve" is another booty-shaking tune that has some demanding lyrics along with "Read Between The Lines" that has a Latin feel to it. The techno-ish "Loose Rap" feels like I'm at the club while "It's Whatever" feels like I'm floating on a cloud with Aaliyah singing to me. "More Than A Woman" has that familliar Aaliyah touch as well as "We Need A Resolution". This is soon to become a classic album due to it's remarkable music. This was THE album of her career, and I think that she exited this world with a winner and people will always remember her for doing something special such as this album and her many other songs before.
