This was definetly the best album in Aaliyah's career. She said that she self-titled it because it was the album that most encompassed her as an individual; when you listen to it, you'll see this is true.

Aaliyah (Self-titled)

1. We Need a Resolution (Featuring Timbaland) 5/5 - This is the epitome of a great dance song; has a great Arabian beat that seems to envelop her voice.
2. Loose Rap (Featuring Static from Playa) 4/5 - A bluesy track that also feels like a bit of a slow jam
3. Rock the Boat 5/5 - The best slow jam Aaliyah ever gave us; the track is nothing if not sexy
4. More than a Woman 4/5 - Another great dance song; Tim gives us another song to dance to
5. Never No More 4/5 - A beautiful ballad that tackles serious subject matter (abuse)
6. I Care 4 U 5/5 - An unbelievable song; this was originally supposed to be on One in a Million - so glad she waited
7. Extra Smooth 3/5 - A song with a really good beat but feels a bit like filler
8. Read Between the Lines 4/5 - A track infused with w/ Spanish rhythms that makes you want to get up and dance
9. U Got Nerve 4/5 - A great kiss-off song; another flawless beat
10. I Refuse 4/5 - A song that feels like an epic in length but nevertheless she wins you over with that beautiful soprano voice and driving beat of a power ballad
11. It's Whatever 4/5 - Sumptuous; another great slow jam
12. I Can Be 5/5 - This song may only be three minutes long but Aaliyah tells us, in that short time, an amazing story about being the other woman; she's really grown up. A very dark, sensual beat as well.
13. Those Were the Days 4/5 - A simple track, yet another great beat, and beautiful vocals
14. What If 4/5 - This song feels like it has parts of R&B, techno, and rock all mixed in together; the song just brings you in to its tenacious beat. It's one of my favorites of hers.
15. Messed Up (Bonus Track) 4/5 - By far the song w/ the crunkest beat; the song can't not get you moving
