This album was by far Aaliyah's best album lyrically! Sean Garret the writer or Usher's "Yeah" and Ciara's "Goodies" and some of Destiny's Child material went off on the lyrics!! The lyrics are deep, rich and may leave the listener in the dust if they are use to mediocore/half-ass/simple (Ashanti) lyrics...Brandy, Monica and Alicia Keys are the few artist that I can say still have meaningful lyrics.

At the peak of her career Aaliyah produced a masterpiece. This album highlights are well, seriously, without exaggeration EVERYTHING! There is no song on this record that reminds me of the un-originality and un-creativeness of today's R&B music ...The only thing that I do not like about this album is that sometimes on rock heavy tracks like "Missed Up" it is difficult to make out Aaliyah's vocals. If only she would have sung the way she did on her 1st album then maybe that would have solved that problem. But vocally this masterpiece was a step up from her vocals on "One In A Million", but not as full as her vocals on her 1st album....~~~~(one thing that R.Kelly did for her as a producer on her 1st album was that he made her SANG...he brought that HIDDEN voice out of her)~~~~

This album is equivalent to Janet Jackson's 'Velvet Rope': dark, mysterious,unique, complete, grammy-worthy, lyrically deep, a deeper look into the arstist, a slept on album....Lyrically and even musically there is no artist out right now that can possibly touch this album......it's sad that this talent had to die.....but her music lives on ....and what great music it is!
