Age Ain't Nothing But A Number

She Climbed The Highest Mountain.....And Made It To The Top!

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Released in the summer of 1994 and being only 15 at the time this album was released, Aaliyah certainly did hit the spolight with this 1994 debut album "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number". It was the two smash singles, "Back & Forth" and "At Your Best (You Are Love)" that brought her to her fame, hit the Top Ten and went gold, making "Back & Forth" number one on the R&B charts and "At Your Best" number two, making her debut album a definate classic that will always live in the hearts of Aaliyah fans all over the world! Aaliyah had a wonderful and touching voice and certainly did not waste the precious gift that God had blessed her with. Aaliyah started to work on this album when she was only 13 years old (Taking us back to 1992) with the help of singer/composer R. Kelly, who did a great job of assisting Aaliyah in the production of this album. This album is definately an R&B classic of the 90s, that has been enjoyed since day one by millions of fans. Even though it has been almost 2 years since her tragic and unfortunate death, her music and film contributions will live on forever, being missed by some and forgotten by none.

Some of my favourite tracks on this album include: "Throw Your Hands Up", "Back And Forth" (Which was also Aaliyah's first music video) "Down With The Clique", "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number", "At Your Best (You Are Love), "I'm So Into You" and "Street Thing". Generally, all tracks on this album were written and sung very good, which makes "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number" a definate classic that Aaliyah was definately capable of recording. I also recommend her 2 other albums: "One In A Million" (1996) and "Aaliyah" (2001), which are 2 other well written albums from the late Aaliyah.

She's down.

I'm a 31 year old white guy that normally listens to metal and grunge, but I love this album. I had a roommate in the Airforce back in 1994 [ ... read complete review ]
