The songs are a mix of rapped and sung lyrics. The topics of the songs in general are puppy-dog love and just having fun. The CD starts off with a humorous story-rap, "Oh Aaron," which features Carter's brother Nick (of the Backstreet Boys) in a supporting vocal role. Another enjoyable track is "I Would," a sweetly performed mix of rap and singing. Carter's most ambitious vocal performance is on the love song "I'm All About You." It's a tender love song, reminiscent of some of the Backstreet Boys' work, and Carter does a solid job with it.
Carter's pointedly wholesome rap lyrics make me think of him as the anti-Eminem. On "The Kid in You," for example, he boasts that he still shows love to his parents and does chores at home (although the same song's line about eating a ham sandwich is bound to displease vegetarians). So if you want a fun dance/pop CD that won't offend a family audience, try "Oh Aaron."
