ABBA

The Visitors

The end of a pop phenomenon.

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Very few people expected this to be the final Abba album upon it's release in December 1981. Growing on the mature sophisticated new wavish style from Super Trouper (their finest work), Abba moved on with another masterpiece. This album gave us some of Abba's most personal and haunting imageries ever. The girls were now singing songs about motherhood, such as Slipping Through My Fingers, an ode to every mothers fear of sending their kids off to school. Like An Angel Passing Through My Room is a beautiful lullaby which is haunting at the same time. Two For The Price Of One is lightweight but also serves up a dose of the classic 70's Abba. When All Is Said And Done is one of the best structured songs ever, I love the drum machines that really boost the song.

I can go on and on, but IMO, this album and Super Trouper are both depressing because they showed that Abba could've gotten even bigger in the 80's. Get it, it's beautiful.
