The title track(actually called "How to be a Millionaire") is Martin Fry's sarcastic take on the high priced, ever more expensive world we live in. The lyrics are full of ironic touches. The other big single, "Be near me" is every bit as melodic as Fry & White's best songs("All of my heart", "S.O.S", "When Smokey sings") and more intimate and immediate than a lot of earlier material on LEXICON OF LOVE.
Although the production touches sound a little dated(they are very much of their time, while both BEAUTY STAB & LEXICON OF LOVE sound a little more immediate and contemporary in terms of their production and otherall sound), the songwriting shows a continuing growth and willingness to explore new territory.
