No self-respecting pop music lover would dare ignore this fabulous debut from ABC. Well-crafted, well-sung, and produced by then-hot Trevor Horn, "The Lexicon of Love" is a standard in pop that should be followed. Martin Fry could sing pages from the phone book and still deliver with urgency and feeling. This is most evident in the dynamite singles "The Look of Love" and "Poison Arrow." The production may sound a bit dated, but this recording stands head and shoulders above much of modern pop. Buy two copies.
