Ace of Base's 3rd recording "Cruel Summer" has perfection, masterpiece, and classic written all over it. Sure, the first single "Cruel Summer" will keep you cool during the summer, but the rest of the album will keep you indulged all year around. During the spring time, you'll have tracks such as "Adventures in Paradise" and "Whenever you're near me" match your upraise of spring pursuit for love. "Travel to Romantis" and "Tokyo Girl" will keep you going through bulkily humid summers as you travel, rest, or go out and have fun. "Every time it rains" will make you wet during the dark, chilly, autumn rains even if you're somewhere inside, covered. And to keep you warm through cold, woebegone winter days, you'll have Mowtown-influenced songs such as "Always have, Always will," "Cecilia" and "Donnie" keep your feet swinging and moving and your hands jamming and clapping to the miraculously created beats. Whatever time of the year and whichever mood you are in, this is the album for YOU. Ace of Base have done an astounding job, showing us their real talents, probably for the first time with this 3rd album. Their vocal abilities, their versatility, their masterminds in music creation and production, their straightforward and sometimes metaphoric lyricism, their uniqueness, and their damned-good looks... it's all here, in one package. "Cruel Summer" is a must have album of this decade.
