"I Should've Known" is a solid tune, with a chorus of background singers saying "dot dot dot." Where has one heard that before? Another standout is "Stupid Thing," which has as pretty of a tune as the lyric "Oh you stupid thing" could do justice to. "Mr. Harris" is about a younger woman's desire for a retired gent who "looks like Jimmy Stewart in his younger days." Has anyone else ever wrote about such a subject? And it's a marvelous tune on top of it.
"Say Anything," "4th of July," and "I Know There's A Word For This" are the other solid tunes here. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 starrer, in my opinion, is that there are a few throwaway tunes here, notably "Fifty Years After The Fair" and "Way Back When." But, this is definitely a minor point... highly recommended and highly listenable. Nothing better than listening to a smart woman sing. Yowzah.
