Bleah!

I don't know much about the rest of this French duo's ouvre, but what the heck are they thinking? This pseudo-electronica is well-produced, and Beck even guests on a couple of the tracks, but there's nothing resembling a groove anywhere on this album. Occasionally you'll hear something you think you can hook into, like a driving beat, a catchy melody, or a funky lick, but if it looks like it's going to take over the band backs off from it fearfully, retreating back into their morass of maundering nonsensical formlessness. Just try to tap your foot for more than eight bars. What the heck do the lyrics mean? "Don't Be Light?" "Wonder Milky ..." I know they're French, but I find it hard to believe that much was lost in translation.
