The new colony that have settled here needed a soundtrack to immerse themselves in whilst they built their new lives. And what a soundtrack it is.
I can almost see Kelly watching the stars, through the window of her bubble jet. I can feel Beth Hirsch's conviction in "YOU MAKE IT EASY", so much so that I actually want to meet the amazing subject matter myself.
Floating across the sky, I hum the unmistakable tune of "REMEMBER" until I catch a glance of the strange and cheesy, yet curiously endearing "SEXY BOY".
OK. So I don't live on the moon but I was really getting into that. Because you do get into AIR.
In a big way.
Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicholas Godin have created a soundscape with their kooky instrumentals (all played personally), and tapped into a dreamscape with their lyrics. I can't tell you any other artists that I think you could compare them to. You can safely say that AIR are unique. This is indeed a MOON SAFARI, through the jungle of spacedust and over the crators of electronic kitsch. A journey that will make you smile. smile, smile, smile. These are easy sounds for lazy space days.
And whilst I gave no thought to the the sounds that I would like to hear at zero gravity, I'm thankful that i'll have AIR with me should I ever book that moon ticket with Pan Am.
