Lacks staying power

Actually, I wanted to give it 3 1/2 stars. This is a fine recording but somehow, years after it's release and many listenings later, it just doesn't hold up as well as I had expected. The nasal quality to her voice has begun to grate a bit, the venom in the lyrics of tunes like "You Oughta Know" seems at odds with the slick production values, and the pop hooks have lost their fascination.
