How does she do it?!

No matter what anyone says - Alanis is a truly legendary musical icon. Whilst her sales will almost certainly never reach the dizzying heights of 1995's classic 'Jagged Little Pill' album, the fact that Alanis has managed to consistently release album after album of pure genius is admirable in itself.
Ok, 'So Called Chaos' doesn't exactly break any ground musically but lyrically it offers Alanis' trademark quirkiness and trigger happy vocabulary along with some amazing melodies and proves as far as self-pity goes Alanis is still racing ahead.

Opening track '8 Easy Steps' is a fast, uptempo rock number with an almost oriental influence and gets the album off to an amazing start.. the flow stays consistent throughout the album and reaches further peaks in the devastating title track, the beautiful 'Not All Me' and the monster lead single 'Everything'.

Overall a highly recommended effort, more catchy and inviting than any of Alanis' previous outings. It's just a shame commercial success won't match up to JLP or even SFIJ for that matter.
