Having taken a chance on Jagged Little Pill and being very pleased with that CD, I decided to take another chance and buy this CD. The reviews I read were more inconsistent, but since I was beyond my adolescent years, I thought it might be more a matter of age related taste. This is a very different CD than Jagged Little Pill. I thought the first 5 songs on the CD were very good--not as intense as Jagged Little Pill, but good songs. The remaining 12 songs were very inconsistent--some were pretty good, but some were pretty bad. The last song on the CD sounded like church music and not at all what I bought the CD for and left a bad taste with me. Overall, I thought the CD was okay but not near as good as Jagged Little Pill. I bought the CD hoping for the same passion and intensity I heard in Jagged Little Pill, but it wasn't there. I am now questioning what kind of sound will come out of her future CDs and am much more doubtful about buying Under Rug Swept. I think she is a very talented singer, but if her future CDs are not more like Jagged Little Pill and less like this one, I think she will lose a lot of fan interest.
