Brutal definitely describes this album. Not that the music is brutal, but the lyrics! Alice is ranting and raving about the state of the world and he sure doesn't see anything good to sing about. The music is straight ahead hard rock, steady 4-4 rhythms, good drumming, and a solid low end. The guitar work is mostly chords, but enough fretwork to keep the interest up. Several of the songs stick in your head and are hummable, which is the sign of good songs in my opinion. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that there wasn't a huge variety in the tempos and structures of the songs.

However, Take it Like a Woman is a lame song, jeeze, call Spinal Tap if you need help with a ballad. Other than that, this is an impressive album for an old rocker who I thought was more comfortable playing golf that rocking the house.
