In his first true concept album since GOES TO HELL ,Alice Cooper brings us the eeerie tale of a sinister showman who offers selected children a place in his show for a very small price ...their souls.However,a boy named Steven is determined to play the showman's game,and to win .. . THE LAST TEMPTATION mixes the the commerciality of TRASH with the darkness of WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE .The Coop aims his satirical gaze at several targets:the drug culture(BAD PLACE ALONE),empty teenage lives(SIDESHOW,LOST IN AMERICA),young love and lust(YOU'RE MY TEMPTATION,IT'S ME),and the ongoing struggle between good and evil(NOTHING'S FREE,STOLEN PRAYER,LULLABY,UNHOLY WAR and CLEANSED BY FIRE).THE LAST TEMPTATION is heavier than TRASH and HEY STOOPID,but it fits the concept like a glove.The lead singer of Soundgarden co-writes and lends his vocals to twotracks(STOLEN PARAYER,UNHOLY WAR).Ever since CONSTRICTOR,the proceeding album improves on the previous release. Going on how great THE LAST TEMPTATION IS,then BRUTAL PLANET has it's work cut out for it.
