It grows on you

This is my first AIC record, so I can't say if it compares to the others. When I first heard it, I was disappointed. It sounded monotonous and repetitive, but now my opinion changed. This is a worthwile record and has a lot of great songs on it : "Grind", "Brush away", "Heaven beside you", "Again"... but my favorites are "Head Creeps", "Shame in You" and "God am". It takes a while to get into this record but then it works. But there are some weak points too: "Frogs" would be better off shorter, as would "Sludge Factory" ( it has some amazing psychedelic guitar work though ). "So Close" and "Nothing Song" are two unspectacular filler-songs, they still ain't too bad. The Guitar work shines on this album, Cartel is on top of things. Stanley's vocals need to grow on you, but they mostely fit the mood. All in all, a worthwile album but nothing that really justefies the hype around AIC. I'll check out the others soon, I'm curious.
