Absolutely Amazing

I can't tell you how amazing this CD is. I'm a huge fan of the Seattle grunge-era, though the one band I always distanced myself from was Alice in Chains. I knew they were a lot heavier sounding than the others, so I put off listening to their stuff. But this CD can make the biggest metal hater happy--it's that amazing. If you love metal, you're set, and if you hate it, it's easy to look past the heavy guitars to Layne's amazing vocals, Jerry's undeniable skill, and Sean Kinney's unique style of drumming. Heck, even the bassist is good.

These four men are without a doubt some of the most skilled rock musicians put together, and this album is a wonderful introduction to that. Facelift isn't my favorite of their albums (personally I like the self-titled one best...), but it's one of the easiest to start with. My personal favorite song on the album (my favorite song ever) is Love, Hate, Love. Listen to every part of the song: the drums, Layne's emotions, the haunting guitar riffs, to get the full effect. Bleed the Freak is a close second ;)
