DIRT was definitly their most popular album BUT:

I actually considered it to be a dissappointment to its predecessor: FACELIFT. This has got to be my favorite album by my all-time favorite metal band. IN there debute Jerry Cantrell really shows off his phenominal guitar work (SEA OF SORROW), and Layne really shows off his vocal cords (LOVE, HATE, LOVE), as well as the harmonization of both (I KNOW SOMETHIN) to create what I call "soul metal". Its nothing like there other albums and really nothing like Ive ever heard from other musicians. I certainly can't find any resemblence to Nirvana or Pearl Jam for that matter. While the songs mentioned really stand out in my mind- it is one of the few albums where I enjoy EVERY one of the songs. It is a must have to your hard rock collection.
