A pretty good debut for this Seattle-based band. Layne Staley has a truly unique voice-box. Add the style of play by the band and you get a very distinct sound. Part alternative, part grunge, and (a big) part rock. The album starts off in ground breaking fashion with "We Die Young", "Man in a Box", "Sea of Sorrow" and "Bleed the Freak", but then it trails off with more average tunes and even a few 'filler' tunes. Over all a good selection and sound production is above average. If you are looking for one AIC album to start your collection, start with their sophmore effort, "Dirt".
