Although a departure from their normal, expected sound, this EP is perhaps one of Alice in Chains greatest recordings, and the greatest EP ever made (alongside perhaps AFI's All Hallows EP). Focusing on softer acoustic sounds and straying away from the sludgy, this cd still manages to capture the essence of Alice, due mainly in part to the impeccable vocals of the great Layne Staley. Even as an EP this produced two major hits, (I Stay Away, Don't Follow). The disks trump card, the seven minute opus Rotten Apple, ranks as one of AiC's best songs. The cd has an overall spooky vibe to it and it is especially good for rainy day listening. One of the finest recordings ever, even at around 35 minutes. Definetely buy.
