Alice in chains is tied with soundgarden for being my favorite grunge band, but there deffinately my all time favorite band. This album puts an amazing band on a different type of setting, rather than a live setting where you play songs (to some extent) how they were originally ment to be played they are put in an accoustic setting. Being on unplugged let them run more with the idea they had during the recordings of sap and jar of flies and also give some of there un-accoustic material (such as rooster, sludge factory and heaven beside you) a different sound. Over all this is a great album and not one track should be skipped. I'm aware Jerry's guitar had some sort of problem with it (you can very odviously hear it) but surprisingly it dosent take away from the album at all, this album flows very well and Mtv was very privileged to have this band on there show unplugged, Layne Staley was an amazing vocalist and lived a life cut short by things that were out of his control. To get the full effect of this amazing band unplugged look for the DVD, which this site also has instock. Its nice to know that even now when you have no idea how bad music will get before it will get good again that there was once great bands like this, R.I.P Layne Staley.
