Lonely Runs Both Ways

Another Great Albim from 5 Shining Stars

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
When I first purchased this album and popped it in my car stereo, I was mesmerized once again by Alisons vocals an violin. I was expecting a hard driving set of songs like "Boy Who wouldn't Hoe Corn" on the Live Album. Instead, I was pleasantly suprised by the song mix that put me in a quiet a reflective mood. My favorites turned out to be Alison's voice and Jerry's Dobro on "Restless", along with the vocals & guitar on "I don't have to Live this Way", perhaps the hardest driving song. "Rain Please Go Away" also speaks volumes. Dan's vocals on "Pastures of Plenty" head west for some new sounds I much enjoyed hearing. And of course, "Crazy as Me" was an immediate favorite. Barry and Ron's contributions really stand out on this new album more than any other. Trully a collaborative work. This album grows on you in unexpected ways, a true blue favorite from the band that continues to redefine bluegrass tradition for our modern age.
