It seems that since the release of the Coen Brother's film: "O' Brother Where Art Thou" there has been an influx of people re-gaining interest in Bluegrass music. Although I am not a huge fan of the genre, I will admit that it is an important influence on many forms of modern music (which I learned through the recent PBS series American Roots Music; which was great BTW).
Allison Krauss has been around for a long time, I'm not sure exactly how long, but you can tell that as a musician she and her band Union Station have created some wonderful dynamics together. The album as a whole is wonderful, however there are some tunes I could do without. If you are looking for a lighter modern Bluegrass album, I'd definately reccomend this one along with the new Nickel Creek album.
Is this album any better or worse than Kruass' other work? Only having heard 2 of her albums, I can't really say. I can say that this is a good solid recording and probably one of the best of 2001.
