That said, maybe I was expecting too much from the CD. I had hoped for a more traditional bluegrass sound from Alison this time (and thus, my deduction of one star) and was a little let down to see that most of the bluegrass sound on this CD come from the songs of Dan Tyminski. But don't misunderstand me because Dan is one of the finest bluegrass singer-muscians in the business today. He has received a much deserved boost from the "O Brother" soundtrack and his career is on the move as can be witnessed by the recent release of his own new solo CD.
But Alsion still has that voice and it's hard to fault any of the songs she does on this CD. I particularly enjoy "The Lucky One" and "Stars" of hers and "It All Comes Down to You" and "Mama Cried" by Dan. This is a very good CD and should be in the collection of Alison Krauss/bluegrass fans everywhere.
