Avril shines in her debut "Let Go", her angsty hardcore pop-rock album featuring the single "Complicated". Unlike most pop artists, Avril delivers unique songs, relatable messages and beautiful music.

Despite hearing constantly that Avril is a poser, a wannabe-punk rocker and an all around idiot...I don't see how this album proves that in general. Avril has a purely decent and rough voice, and "Complicated" is a brilliant song about people when they lose themselves to the crowd and try to hard.

Other hits like "Things I'll Never Say", "Mobile" and "Anything But Ordinary" are any depressed or anxious teen's anthems...speaking out about changes in life, feelings about a guy and just plain ordinary concepts that hardly any other artist fails to cover.

Although it's technically popular music, "Let Go" is also an emotional emotive portrait of fear, love, angst and passion. Avril shines in songs with beautiful lyrics like "With You", and delivers catchy tunes from the infamous "Sk8r Boi" and the lesser-acknowledged "Naked".

Punk? Maybe. But this album is definatly worth a listen.
