Collaborations are always tricky. Purists complain that one or the other of the artists has been compromised, that somehow the mixture isn't 'pure', and who needs it anyhow, there are plenty of CDs by each of them. Hogwash. Collaborations are pure fun, and when they are done by established hall-of-famers, the totality is almost always greater than the sum of the parts.

I first saw BB King in 1968, and Clapton a few years later. This CD is for the memories as much for the music. And the music is great. Nothing new, but who needs something new from Clapton playing with King? These guys have nothing to prove, they're just jamming and having a good time together. And we get to listen. That should be more than enough for anybody who has followed either or both of these musical geniuses over the years.
