What happened to the good old days?

OK, so all in all, this is a complete mockery of a Christmas CD. Definitely NOT my first choice for holiday listening. For pop fans, a safer choice would probably be *Nsync's "Home for Christmas".
The only reason I'm giving this CD 1 star is because the girl can SANG. But that's about it. She completely butchered some of my favorite classic Christmas songs (i.e. Angels We Have Heard On High, Merry Christmas, Baby , and Oh, Holy Night). By the halfway point of the disc, I was wanting to yank her through my headphones and tell her to cut the vocal runs out completely. A few here and there are one thing, but every line is too much. She's a great vocalist, but she completely tears herself up on this one.
The shining moment is These Are the Special Times. Though obviously oversung (the pattern set for the duration of the disc), I actually got a few chills in the first two minutes of the song. It was decent. She held off until the last minute or so to blow it to pieces, on a minor scale.
Call me old fashioned, but I'd rather hear a good Christmas song sang straight without all the junk that's on this CD. There's no reason to sound like somebody's jabbing you in the rear while your singing. If you're looking for quality holiday music, pass this one up. Don't waste the bucks.
