This album demonstrates why the Dave Matthews Band appeals to such a wide range of people. In my opinion, the word "versatility" aptly describes the Dave Matthews Band's performance on Everyday due to the variable styles of songs on this album, as well as the range of instruments employed by the band. I think it is precisely this versatility that attracts such a diverse audience to this talented set of musicians.

Of course, at the core of this band's music is the extraordinary songwriting talents of the lead musician. Dave Matthews is among the best contemporary songwriters in popular music today. As shown on Everyday, he writes melodic and infectious music in connection with poetic and interesting lyrics. Every song on this album is a compelling composition in its own right.

But the strength of this album does not end with the songwriting. When such well-crafted songs are performed with the unmistakable heart and soul of the Dave Matthews Band, the result is an absorbing, engrossing experience for the listener. Everyday is simply a combination of magnificent songwriting and masterful musicianship, which equates to one of the best overall albums I've purchased in quite a while.
