Echo and the Bunnymen quite possibly reversed itself with its own bizarre name. This band, however, proved a stalwart in the stakes for best band of the 80's. The intelligent lyrics, the sweeping orchestral movements, and the emotional delivery of one Ian M. made this band a moment in time, frozen and indelible like the Stones or the Beatles. The difference between these bands is that when the brilliance of the Bunnymen surfaced in the cultural zeitgeist it was as a fractured peice of a cable-oriented whole, whereas the Stone/Beatles owned the globe-lock,stock,and barrel.
