EPIC!!!

Writing an album consisting of a single 40 minute song is a bold undertaking. After all, heh, if one song sucks there's not much scope for improvement on the rest of the album!
Well, this album is a success on every level. It is a fantastic eclectic mix of brutal thrash riffs, wailing black metal style guitars and acoustic passages. The band are very successful at justifying the album being a single song by revisiting numerous riffs throughout the entire 40 minutes, with little variations here and there. My only criticism (which isn't really a criticism at all) is that given it's length you really need to find the time to sit down and listen to the whole album. Plus when you're listening to it on your discman and you want to fast forward it to a particularly cool part it's a bit of a pain when that section is 15 minutes into the song! Still, minor complaints. This is an incredible, progressive, epic monster of a record and I would recommend it to any Metal fan.
