Although it lacks the gorgeous ending of "Electro-Shock Blues," the lesser-known "Beautiful Freak" is a better album overall. It opens with hit single "Novocaine for the Soul" and amazingly goes up from there. Obscure single "Susan's House" is awe-inspiring, while the spooky "Rags to Rags" and "Your Lucky Day in Hell" are equally brilliant in their own way. From start to finish, this is a remarkably consistent and well crafted album. I have never known anyone to be disappointed by it.
