Bloated Excess

A double album of mostly weak melodies and tired, repetetive arrangements. This dbl cd is mostly comprised of Jeff Lynne songwriting that is considerably weaker than his best, and the lyrics that accompany the hackneyed melodies are embarassingly sophomoric. As one of the original Jeff Lynne fans (who bought the original Move lps on wax,) I recommend, to those who are seeking to flesh out their ELO collection, to buy Eldorado, Time, Face The Music, A New World Record, or Balance of Power, if they want to hear top flight pop songwriting, singing and arrangements that are comprised of terrifically memorable melodies and strong and catchy melodies.
