Significant farewell

As a solid fan of Elliot Smith's music, I am both happy and sad that this recording has been released. I'm glad that there is more of his music available to enjoy, but I'm also saddened that such a sensitive soul has moved on from this world and the beauty of this most recent release is a new reminder of that. There are a few places on the disk that are reminiscent of previous tunes, but by and large, previous fans will be pleased with the new approaches. I'm relieved that this posthumous release is NOT your typical patchwork of unfinished mixes, so common in the Hendrix releases. Instead it is another example of the high standard and consistency of his creativity and is a fitting farewell offering from one of the best songwriters of our time.
