Troubled guy + musical talent = freakin' amazing cd

I bought this cd even though I never really listened to his music when he was alive. I wanted to know why a lot of his fans were so sad when he died. It's really grown on me, I like it more every time I listen to it. Of course most of this album is depressing, but oh so beautiful in a tragic sort of way. Every song is just so infused with what he was feeling and what caused him so much pain. "A Fond Farewell" really stands out to me because it reminds me of a friend of mine who committed suicide. Once again, this music is sad but beautiful.
