Cross Of Changes

Only one thing I need to say

The music of Enigma and lyrics are great. The style of this album has changed from the first album. I think these have been known by anyone, even someone isn't Enigma fan. But there is one big confusion about one of the song in this album I must clarify here, its name is Return to Innocence.

This 1996 Olympic theme was released with in the Cross of Changes in 1993. Soon it hit the chart in US and Europe. This song has great dance rhythm, fine lyric singing and, of course, impressive vocables. Because MC never told where this vocable chant was from, so that became a gossip for people who have heard that song.

Searched for more than a hundred websites, what I found, from India to American Native (American Natives have more than hundreds of singing styles, people who insists the vocable was from NA couldn't tell which one was that), were all wrong. The chant was recorded in France while Mr and Mrs Kuo, two Native TAIWNAESE (Ami(Ah-mei) Tribe) Aboriginal singers performed in Paris 1988.

Mr and Mrs Kuo didn't get the credit or direct pay from Enigma, but some people find this fact out and result a CNN interview for Kuo's before 1996 Olympic. I myself don't hate Enigma, because if they didn't use the vocable, the Native Taiwanese voice won't even be heard by Taiwanese....because of them some Taiwanese artists started to use the singing, rhythms from Native tribes. Just use without even telling the original owner is known as stealing. But this album deserve a 5 star because of its music.

Read lots of review, including the Amazon.com one, all misrecognize the origin of this vocable; I think I should stand out to tell the truth. Even it might be sharp to hear. Also, hope amazon.com's reviews will change their review, too. A wrong written history will have bad influence on people who see them.
