Fabolous' sophomore effort Street Dreams is 100 times better than his banal, sleep inducing debut album Ghetto Fabolous. I bashed that album pretty bad because it was just terrible...horrible rhymes, unappealing beats and too much hype. Two years later it appears that at least Fabolous has been working on his game. His flow is much improved and his lyrics are slightly better. He still has the nearly unlistenable boring voice but this time around he makes it work with the help of fairly solid production. The content has not changed, however, as he continues to boast about his sexual escapades, his numerous throw back jerseys and hats, and his platinum chains and expensive liquor. But in listening to this album I wasn't really expecting anything more than that so the content was not a problem. Not like I expected Fabolous to spit anything different.

After hearing his first single 'This Is My Party', I thought his album would be another dosage of horrible trash tracks because that song is indeed incredibly wack. And there are plenty of songs on here that are just plain out wiggedy wack but on songs like "Call Me", Bad B****, Why Wouldn't I, Up On Things, My Life and Throw Back, Fabolous delivers the goods. My favorite song on this album is "Damn". All I have to say is damn. This is indeed the best song I have ever heard Fabolous do. The beat is just hard and he spits some braggadocio over it with a nice little flow. This is the song that made me checc out the album. Definitely a banger.

Fabolous' second album greatly improves on his last and is a pretty decent effort. Once he improves some of his subject matter he just MIGHT be a force to be reckoned with.
