King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime

Six Stars for Caca

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
I'm no Mr. Bungle fan because of their vulgarity, and when this album came out I was still listening to Angel Dust non-stop since its release date. I consider myself a die-hard FNM fan. One day, about a year after the release date I gave "King for a Day..." a chance. I was stoked. From the opening to the close of the album, from the intensity of "Gentle art of Making Enemies" to the swank rock jazz of "Star AD," this album leaves you second guessing. What is Patton going to do next? What is he saying? He's singing one minute and nearly gagging the next? This is clearly the most original rock album of all time. A splendid diversity of art and noise. It grinds and it even swoons. (Ladies, watch out for the Portugese. Patton will have you in bed without even being there.) I'd give it six stars, but they won't let me.
