I was very surprised at some of the negative reviews on Fantasia. I haven't heard "Summertime" sung so well in years. She took a classic and made it Fantastic! When she did "Chain of Fools", she earned her R-E-S-P-E-C-T because usually when Aretha Franklin sings a song, you just can't re-sing it. "I Believe" was truly inspirational even though the lyrics to the song were hokey, Fantasia made the audience forget they were at a competition and think they were at a concert!!! To say the Diana DiGarmo is a better artist than Fantasia is pure and unadulterated BLASPHEMY!! Diana DiGarmo showed us that she and her voice are still growing up. Diana's voice at times was uneven, shaky and even screechy, ESPECIALLY when she made an attempt at trying to sing "I Believe". One of the reviews made the statement that Randy Jackson was the only reason why Fantasia won the competition. Nope!! Simon, Paula, Randy and AMERICA is the only reason why Fantasia won the competition. While some may find her speaking voice to be high-pitched and squeaky, etc., the competition was called "American Idol" not "Toastmasters". She sang her way to victory and she won fair and square. She will go far and for those of you who are Hating on Fantasia, why don't you try to be the next American Idol!!!
