Fear Factory

Soul Of A New Machine

One of the the best Death Metal albums ever.

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Fear Factory is one of the first Death Metal bands to add industrial music to their sound. Buton's vocals really shread here. They added clean/clear vocals and are a first in Brutal Death Metal history. It adds another dimension to the music. The riffs here freaking rule and no revealing solos. Dino also played bass on this album. Burton does death metal vocals only on this album and that is a shame (The death vocals are up there with Tomi from Amorphis and John Tardy from Obituary). This new I'm really rapping [junk] on Digimortal and that song Edge Crusher are really not that good (Any one can TALK like this in a song). The vocals on this album are aweeeeesome here. The clean vocals appear on the album Obsolete too. Raymonds drums here got tons of Double Bass action going on. There are samples here that here taken out of the film "Full Metal Jacket". Another thing to add is the industrial is not realy like Front 242 or old school Front Line Assembly, but more like Ministry, Godflesh, and early 90's KMFDM. The highlights on this album are Martyr, Escape Confussion, Arise, Scapegoat, Scumgrief, Self Immolation, and Big God. If you just bought Digimortal, Do Not TREAD HERE! Check out their best album Demanufacture and Obsolete. Digi Mortal is more mainstream (Rap/Metal). This is Death Metal.
