Freddie Mercury

Mr. Bad Guy

First off Freddie Mercury did not need the input of the other two major members of Queen on any of his songs just like they did not need his input in their solo careers, Mercury was Queens John Lennon, the talented member who died young thats the fact of the matter. Some of Freddies best songs in Queen had minimal playing by Roger and Brian and were performed live by just Freddie but were still Queen and excellent. However this album is mostly not in the vain of Mercurys usual songwriting in Queen and mostly suffers from a lack of organic instruments including Freddies powerfull and oft underrated piano. Its mostly instead unispired dance/pop in the vain of Roger Taylors Strange Frontier (though Mercurys voice is just great) featuring simplistic lyrics and not Mercurys mostly brilliant grandious and fun yet powerfull and dramatic lyrics. Only a few songs on this album feature Mercurys distinctive piano of his best work with Queen and solo and fine songwriting in a pop ballad rock style like Love Me and Made In Heaven so get the "Solo" collection instead of this to get a great Solo artist at his best.
