Garbage's long awaited follow up to their hugely successful VERSION 2.0 was released in October 2001, the third album BEAUTIFULGARBAGE. The album captures your attention right away with the first song, "Shut Your Mouth", a tongue in cheek song with heavy guitar riffs. The album continues with the first single, "Androgyny", while an interesting track musically, I did not enjoy it too much. The album gains its momento with "Can't Cry These Tears", has a nice build up and overall sound. However my favorite track is the sublime "Parade", sounds like it belongs on their last album, should have been a single has a lot of potential. The album closes with "So Like A Rose", usually I have been very impressed with their closing songs on their past albums, but this one did not have the same affect as "Milk" or "You Look So Fine", not to say its a bad track though. The loudest and hardest the album gets is on the track "Silence Is Golden" which is definately a highlight. Other highlights include "Breaking Up The Girl", "Untouchable", and "Cherry Lips". Overall if you've liked their past albums, you will likely enjoy this one. Another strong album from Garbage.
